Team TRY participant Aaron is on his way to raising $500 to change a life at this year’s Run Melbourne. All money raised will go towards our social program TRY Mentoring which supports at-risk and vulnerable young people by matching them with a positive adult role model.

Passionate about youth mentoring, Aaron is a TRY mentor to Harrison. Originally being matched for a 12-month period, they are currently in their 18th month together and have no plan to stop. Before Aaron met Harrison he had limited recreational and social opportunities and did not have a strong male role model at home or at school. However, a year and a half on, Aaron has witnessed and experienced first-hand the difference mentoring can make.

Using his passion to conquer the Run Melbourne 10km course, the mutual respect Aaron and Harrison have for each other is the key motivator for Aaron. Also, turning to social media to amplify his fundraising goal, and gaining support from his friends, family and work mates, Aaron says:

“I am confident I can reach my $500 fundraising goal, and I know it can make a difference to the lives of other young people like Harrison.”

With four weeks to go until Run Melbourne, you too can change a life! With different Run Melbourne courses to choose from for every fitness level, we invite you to run, skip, or walk with Team TRY.
