Once you’ve found the right early learning centre for your family, it’s time to register your child for enrolment!

We’ve outlined the steps involved in enrolling into childcare to help you know what to expect from the process.

Book a Tour

While this isn't the first step to enrolling it is an important step to feeling comfortable with your choice of centre. Visiting will allow you to meet the team who'll be caring for your child and get a sense of the child's experience.

We encourage every family to ask us any and all questions they may have.

Your child and your family’s peace of mind is incredibly important to us and we want to make sure that you feel safe in knowing they’re in a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment.

If you like what you see and feel confident in having Sparkways Early Learning care for your child, you can always immediately register your interest in person during or after the tour itself.

Once you've made a decision to enrol at a Spakrkways Early Learning Centre getting on the waitlist is your next step. You can do this by clicking the “Join Waitlist” button on the childcare centre page of your choice and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Offer for Enrolment

After clicking Join the Waitlist, all that's left to do is wait to hear back from your chosen early learning centre. If there is a place free for your requested days you'll receive an "Offer of Enrolment" email to complete the whole process.

Make sure to have the following information ready before applying:

  • Information about yourself and any other parents, carers or guardians
  • A scanned copy of your child’s birth certificate, passport, visa or immigration document
  • Details of any parenting orders or legal matters to do with the care or safety of your child (we will keep this private and confidential)
  • Your child’s immunisation status record
  • Additional needs or support documentation

If this is your first time in childcare, you may want to apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). As always, feel free to contact your centre director if you have any questions or need any help.

Please be aware that while we would love to accept everyone, in order to maintain a safe and supportive small group environment, spots are limited at each early learning centre.

FAQs

A CRN is a Centrelink Customer Reference number provided when you register with them. Centrelink uses a CRN to identify your personal record. A CRN is 9 numbers and ends with a letter—for example 123 456 789A.

You will be asked to provide your own CRN as the Guardian 1 on your account and your child’s CRN during the enrolment process (two different CRNs). You can find more information about CRN numbers and where to locate them here.

Please note that both CRNs will be required to complete the enrolment and to be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

You must provide evidence of up to date immunisation prior to beginning childcare. You should provide proof of current immunisations, even if more immunisations are required.

Only an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) will be accepted as evidence of immunisation. Letters from GPs or local councils are not accepted.

Families and carers can print a copy of their child’s Immunisation History Statement from their myGov account or:
call the AIR on phone 1800 653 809 or visit a Medicare or Centrelink office.

More information can be found on HealthVic's website here.

You must provide updated copies of this Immunisation History Statement at and following CHILDCARE commencement.
