All three of my children have attended Roycroft Kindergarten and we have had a long and happy relationship with their teachers, Charmaine and Katia. We have always felt elcome and our children loved their kinder experience. Their individuality was valued with activities catering for their needs and interests and they went to Primary School prepared and independent.
We have returned to this kinder with all our children, we feel like we belong at the kinder, it’s like coming home.
Children need love, reassurance and attention. This has always been my motivation as a teacher. I want to create a safe place for the children in my classroom, where they can experience teamwork, sharing and empathy. Through love and understanding, I believe that I can help students achieve their highest potential.
Our Philosophy
We believe that children need to grow and develop in a loving, caring, stimulating and safe environment. Children will enjoy an environment that includes all curriculum areas, catering for their individual strengths and needs. The environment is friendly, supportive, welcoming, fun and inviting. A wide variety of age appropriate activities will be available at the children’s level, including both planned and spontaneous activities to challenge the children’s developing abilities. Teachers will promote teamwork and open communication between staff. They will also build trusting relationships with parents using daily communication and an open door policy. Positive child guidance will be used at all times.
Our Spaces / Environment
Our small community kindergarten caters for 22 children in our 4 year old group with 2 qualified and experienced Educators. We offer a play and interest based program, the program caters for each child as an individual. We welcome family involvement and look forward to sharing the environment. We have a large outdoor play space that enables children to run, play, and learn in a natural environment.

Fees
The Victorian Government provides funding to support children to access a high quality kindergarten program in the two years before they start school. This helps to ensure all Victorian children get the best start in life.
From 2023, the Victorian Government is making kindergarten programs free for three and four-year-old children – saving you and your family up to $2,500 per year for their program. Free Kinder is a critical component of the Victorian Government’s Best Start, Best Life reform.

What should I pack in my child’s bag?
- Lunchbox with healthy snacks and lunch

Does my child need to be toilet trained to attend kindergarten?
Every child is an individual and will meet milestones at different times. As such children do not have to be toilet trained to attend kindergarten.
As your child begins to show an interest in the toilet, please talk with the educators in our kindergarten. We will work with you and assist in any way we can. When you begin toilet training, pack many changes of clothes as we may have accidents along the way.
Do I need to pack sunscreen?
As a sun-safe organisation we provide child-friendly sunscreen, however if your child has sensitive skin please feel free to provide your preferred brand.
