At Sparkways, child safety isn’t a single policy or process. It’s part of the everyday — in how we build relationships, how our environments are designed, and how our educators show up for children and families.

Safety starts with connection. From the moment a child arrives, we focus on building strong, respectful relationships — helping each child feel safe, known, understood and supported. When children feel safe and secure, they are more confident to explore, learn and express themselves.

We actively encourage children to:

• Share how they feel  
• Ask for help  
• Understand their rights  

Because feeling safe is not just about protection — it’s about confidence, voice and belonging.

Behind the scenes, we have clear systems and responsibilities in place to ensure every child’s safety and wellbeing.

This includes:

• Meeting the Victorian Child Safe Standards  
• Operating in line with the Early Childhood Education and Care National Regulations  
• Upholding national expectations through the National Model Code for Taking Images or Videos of Children

But more importantly, it’s how these standards come to life every day.

Child safety is strongest when it’s shared.

We work closely with families to support each child’s wellbeing — creating open, respectful partnerships where information is shared, questions are welcomed, and children are supported consistently between home and the service.
