Social enterprises support everyone in the community.
Since 1998, Sparkways Social Enterprises has successfully supported the delivery of multiple multimillion dollar projects, and provided employment pathways into meaningful long-term employment for over 30 young people. Here are some of their stories:
McConnell Dowell Creative Construction
Since partnering with us in 2017, long-term Sparkways partner McConnell Dowell has enabled us to provide over 17,000 hours of employment and training for our young workers.
Throughout the years, Sparkways Social Enterprises has helped support McConnell Dowell in a variety of projects from grounds maintenance and wildlife protection to key projects like the Level Crossing Removal project as part of the Western Alliance Program.
Autism isn't a Barrier to Work
For Ben, autism had proven to be a barrier for a number of things in life, but he was determined for work to not be one of them.
With support from Sparkways, Ben took the first steps into a new career, completed his Certificate 1 and 2 in Building Construction and successfully transitioned into the workforce!
We’re incredibly proud of Ben and extremely happy to see him continuing to thrive in his work life.
The William Buckland Foundation
Thanks to the support of the William Buckland Foundation, Sparkways has been able to expand our services to include a nationally accredited Test & Tag service.
Not only has their support allowed us to deliver more value to our clients but, it’s opened up a new career pathway for our young people.
Helping Malia take the first steps to an accounting career
While bright and hard-working, long-term unemployment and self-confidence issues proved to be significant barriers to employment for Malia in her early 20s.
So, when she joined Sparkways in 2014, what she needed most was an opportunity.
